Schnürschuh Theaterhaus

Schnürschuh Theaterhaus has been playing committed, emancipated youth theatre for more than 30 years now. The establishment pursues the goal of being a “theatre in motion” and offering culture that, for its part, also moves. The room with 100 seats is visited by around 16,000 spectators every year.

By virtue of its diverse programme and great commitment to children and young people, Schnürschuh Theaterhaus makes an outstanding contribution to the cultural scene in the Hanseatic city. In addition to the varying performances, the institution offers theatre in education, invites pupils to performances and offers school theatre groups the chance of acting at Schnürschuh Theater. Since December 2007 the Gallery and Artist House Spiekeroog has been a supporter and sponsor of Schnürschuh Theaterhaus, which could not exist without subsidies in the course of its alignment as a public private partnership.

The Schnürschuh ensemble travelled regularly to the island of Spiekeroog for special performances of the play “Die Welle” and other productions, such as “Schnüffler & Co.“, “Nellie Goodbye“ and “Spaceman".
