| Practised social responsibility means taking notice of people in need and distress and offering them assistance – in our region and worldwide. Assistance is particularly successful when it is based on the principle of sustainability and the maxim of helping people to help themselves. For this reason we want to help people who are helpless.

Beluga School for Life The Beluga School for Life in Thailand is a direct aid project of Beluga Shipping GmbH. The institution was set up in 2006, less than two years after the destructive tsunami at the end of 2004. Up to 240 orphans and surviving dependants can live and learn together here. The Bremen project and heavy-lift cargo shipping company furnishes the start-up capital and covers the operating costs for ten years.

| Bremer Fonds “Bremer Fonds e.V.” (Bremen Fund) was created by Niels Stolberg, CEO of Beluga Shipping GmbH, endowed with start-up capital and tailored to specific projects. The patron is Bremen’s mayor, Jens Böhrnsen. Children and young people from socially weak city districts are supported by the Bremen Fund.

| Oldenburger Tafel e.V. Oldenburger Tafel e.V. is part of the state-wide network of “Tafel” projects that pass out surplus food of flawless quality to eligible needy persons. Schools and kindergartens in Oldenburg are also supplied with healthy food by the volunteer helpers. Beluga Shipping GmbH supports Oldenburger Tafel on a long-term basis.
